Settlement Announced for Cash Money Cheque Cashing Inc. Class Action

Cuming & Gillespie and Hordo Bennett Mounteer LLP are pleased to announce that on January 17, 2011 the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench approved the settlement of a class action involving the fees charged by Cash Money Cheque Cashing Inc. prior to March 1, 2010. TMJ Dysfunction Exempt from ‘Cap’ on Pain and Suffering Damages in Alberta

TMJ dysfunction is a painful injury to the jaw which is common in Motor Vehicle Accidents. People who suffer TMJ injuries often require additional physiotherapy and splint therapy and need special dental attention. Cuming & Gillespie is pleased to report that a recent Alberta Case named Sparrowhawk has ruled that TMJ injuries are not subject to the “Cap” on pain and suffering damages.
