Medical malpractice testimonial
March 8th, 2006To Whom It May Concern:
I was rendered a quadriplegic on February 1, 2000 as a result of an undiagnosed abscess in my spine. While I was in the Foothills Hostpital, a friend of mine hired a lawyer in order for me to sue the doctors at Peter Lougheed Hospital for malpractice as a result of failing to consider the possibility of infection. Three years into the case, my first lawyer phoned me and said he felt I couldn’t win the case against the doctors and for me to find a new lawyer or drop the case. I didn’t want to drop the case because I felt my injury arose as a result of malpractice. I found Bill McNally through the yellow pages and explained my situation. He was interested and said he would take a look at it.
A couple of months went by while he investigated my case, then he phoned me and said he would take the case. He sent me to a number of doctors, specialists and started the discoveries against the doctors he felt were most liable. When that was finished, he set up a court date to proceed with the lawsuit.
One day before the trial date the lawyers for the doctors called and made an offer. Bill McNally asked if I would settle outside of court. I accepted the offer. Bill McNally helped invest my settlement so it would last me for my lifetime.
I now live in my own house that has been modified to accomodate my disability. I have good nursing care and a van that has been modified for my wheelchair. I enjoy every day.
Without Bill McNally, I’m sure this case would have gone nowhere. I can’t thank him enough for his effort and hard work.
