Founding Donor of the Foothills Hospital Brain Injury Patient Experience Program
At Cuming & Gillespie, we have always believed that rehabilitation from a serious personal injury is as important as obtaining significant financial recovery. We are always looking for new ways to be innovative with the rehabilitation process and the legal process. In that vein, Cuming & Gillespie are proud to be the founding donors of the Foothills Hospital Brain Injury Patient Experience Program.
Cuming & Gillespie have made a substantial gift to the Calgary Health Trust that will be used to implement and hire a team of people to increase the positive experience that patients have in a hospital setting. The program will also assist people who have suffered brain injuries and spinal injuries focus on rehabilitation during the time in hospital and help transition to the community upon discharge. Cuming & Gillespie has and will continue to be an active participant in this program, offering legal seminars on Accident Benefits and legal options for injured people. Contributor to Annual Chair-Leaders “Enabling Access” Event
Through the work we do, representing catastrophically injured individuals, we at Cuming & Gillespie are very cognizant of the challenges faced by those with disabilities in our communities. For that reason, we are extremely proud to support the Chair-Leaders Enabling Access event, which is an annual event put on by the Canadian Paraplegic Association (Alberta), the Calgary Health Trust, and the Tertiary Neuro Rehabilitation Program at the Foothills Medical Centre.
The purpose of the event is to promote barrier-free access and more inclusive communities and workplaces for those who suffer from spinal cord injuries and other disabilities. The Chair-Leaders organizing committee successfully met its goal of informing, entertaining and providing disability awareness through the event and Cuming & Gillespie are very proud to have been able to contribute to the event.
Cuming & Gillespie will continue to be exemplary corporate citizens, and encourage all others to follow our spirit of giving back to the community.
