Nobody expects to suffer a spinal injury or is prepared for the resulting impact it has on lives. At Cuming & Gillespie, we have a long history of acting for many individuals, both young and old, who have suffered spinal injuries.

At Cuming & Gillespie we believe that there are three essential elements that a lawyer handling serious claims must possess:

  • The resources to properly assess and prosecute a serious claim;
  • The skill to prosecute a serious claim to the fullest extent, including proceeding to trial when necessary; and
  • The compassion to understand the critical importance a lawsuit and what the results that flow from it represent to the injured individual.

At Cuming & Gillespie, we possess all of these elements and we value the enormous responsibility that acting for seriously injured people carries. When you cannot afford to leave your future to chance, depend on Cuming & Gillespie.

As part of Cuming & Gillespie’s commitment to seeing that individuals who have suffered spinal cord injuries are able to access appropriate supports, we are proud to be the founding donor of the Foothills Hospital Brain Injury Patient Experience Program, which not only assists those who have suffered a brain injury, but also spinal injury patients. The goal is to ensure there is a focus on rehabilitation while in hospital and to help these individuals transition back into the community upon discharge.

This program was set up in conjunction with the Foothills Hospital and the Calgary Health Trust. Cuming & Gillespie is proud to have been involved in the implementation of this program and to provide the funding to hire a team of people to increase the positive experience that patients have in a hospital setting.
