In 2016, the Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA), in collaboration with the HQCA’s Patient/Family Safety Advisory, established the inaugural HQCA Patient Experience Awards to give recognition to initiatives that work to improve the patient experience in accessing and receiving healthcare services.

The patient experience is defined as “the sum of all interactions, shaped by an organization’s culture that influence patient perceptions, across the continuum of care”.

IMG 69751We are proud to announce that the Foothills Medical Centre Neurosciences Patient Experience Team was selected as one of four winners of the HQCA Patient Experience Award, chosen out of over 50 submissions from across the province.

As the founding donor of the Foothills Neurosciences Patient Experience Program, Cuming & Gillespie LLP is extremely proud of the work done by the team, including the numerous volunteers. Their efforts have assisted countless patients who have suffered brain injuries and spinal cord injuries and their families to overcome the devastation of the injuries and transition from the hospital back into the community. We thank the entire team for all of their hard work and are glad to see that their work is being recognized.
